WHAT IS RESEARCHER’S NIGHT?

The European Night of Research takes place annually on the last Friday of September in over 300 cities across 30 European countries. The event’s primary goal is to forge a connection between the public and the realms of research and innovation, specifically by introducing them to the scientists who drive these fields. Furthermore, it aims to achieve this in a manner that is both engaging and accessible to all. To this end, the event offers a wide array of activities designed to cater to diverse interests and age groups. For instance, schools, families, children, young people, and adults can all find opportunities to explore and actively participate in local science. Among the diverse offerings are workshops, talks, and captivating shows. In addition, attendees can engage in hands-on experiments, partake in astronomical observations, and even enjoy science-themed games

WHO IS PROMOTING IT?

The European Researchers’ Night is a European scientific dissemination project promoted by the European Commission within the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions of the Horizon 2020 program.

Furthermore, in Catalonia, we have been organizing this great event for more than two years now. As a result, we offer more than 200 informative activities for all audiences in various venues such as universities, museums, bars, libraries, and civic centers. Furthermore, the organizers hold these activities in the five main nodes of the Catalan territory: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, Tarragona, and Vic.

This year, in particular, our motto is “Research for change”. With this motto, we want to convey the importance of the research of Catalan institutions and its impact on our day-to-day life.

We presented the DAALI project here to raise awareness about the project to the general public.
